What's in my Longchamp?

I'm done with the nursing program, but now I have to pass my board exams. Tomorrow marks the first official class for the NCLEX.  My program is holding a mandatory 8 hour live review at our campus for the next two days.  After that I will be attending a Kaplan program that hopefully will prepare me for the NCLEX.    I haven't touched a book, powerpoint or index card in about two weeks so I've been pretty out of it. Since I am no longer in school, I don't have the luxury of Professors breathing down my neck on upcoming exams and papers.  It's all up to me now to prepare for this final stretch.

Enough of the heavy, this is what I'm bringing with me to my 8 hour review tomorrow.  They didn't specify on what was required so I just brought a spiral notebook and my hello kitty folder incase they supply us with handouts.  I also brought my Olympus tape recorder incase there is going to be a good lecture I could record.  The rest, just essentials every girl needs.

I don't find it necessary to doll up for school so what I carry in my make up bag is kinda vanilla.  Blotting powder is a must for my oily t zone. Systane eye drops to prevent my eyes from drying too much since I do wear contacts.  EOS lip balm and a very thin mirror from bath and body works to check for bats in the cave.

I forgot to include my iphone, but that's pretty much it.  When I was in the nursing program I carried a whole ten pounds more, but thankfully i'm done and can let my arm rest for a while. That's it for now, thanks so much for stopping by.

Favorite Make Up Products of 2011

Celebrating the new year with a new post.

I'm not the type of person to accumulate favorite make up products monthly, so I thought I'd share some of my yearly favorites.

EOS Lip Balms
EOS lip balms aren't the most moisturizing, but they do a pretty decent job of preventing my lips from flaking during the winter.  What I like most about them is their packaging.  They come in a range of colors and are packaged in this fun spheric shape.  Another great thing about EOS products are they are organic and paraben free.

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette
I've used all of the eye creams under the sun, but I've recently come to terms with the fact that it's genetic and I will never completely get rid of my panda eyes.  This concealer is dirt cheap and is great at covering my horrible dark circles.  It's a cream concealer and a little goes a long way.  The only downfall is the lack of color range.  This concealer palette comes with two concealer shades shown on the top and bottom left, one neutralizer on the lower right and one translucent powder on the upper right.  The concealer shades are meant for more lighter skin tones.  What I use is the darker of the two, which comes off lighter when applied.

Revlon Brow Fantasy
I've recently switched from brow powder to this eye brow pencil.  After using this I can confidently say I'd never go back to powder.  This brow pencil allows me to fill in my brows with precision.  The packaging makes it easy for travel.  I'm not a fan of having to sharpen the tip but other than that I have no complaints.

Maybeline Dream Matte Powder
This is a very light powder, great for setting foundation.  I usually get the color Sand Medium 0-1.  This doesn't provide much coverage but it's works beautifully as a setting and blotting powder.  On top of the panda eyes I suffer from an oily T zone so I carry one of these in my makeup bag for whenever I need touch ups throughout the day.

These are some of my make up recommendations for the year of 2012.  They are all drug store products, so they're dirt cheap but great quality.

I'm off to bed with a cup of green tea.  See you in my next post!

Opening Act

Since the new year is approaching, I thought it'd be a good idea to start off fresh with a brand new blog. Like my previous blog most of my entries will consist of hauls, reviews and random tidbits of my personal life.  Welcome, please make yourself at home. I'm open to any suggestions on reviews and blog entries you'd like to read.

I went down to VA recently to visit my family.  Since they live so close to the outlets, whenever I'm there I can't help but take a trip to the Coach Factory Store.  I'm a bit of a bargain shopper and I always try to shop sales.  I was on the hunt for a new wallet and camera bag and luckily Coach had exactly what I wanted.

I was juggling three black wallets in my hand for about thirty minutes until I finally came to and chose this one.  I thought it looked really chic and expensive.  The coach medallion in the front reminds me of the Tory Burch Logo.  I love Coach wallets, and it's been a yearly tradition for me to purchase one.  They're very good quality and at the Coach Factory Outlet, a great deal.  This particular one that I purchased was originally $188, which was then reduced to $94 and finally reduced to $65 plus tax.  Not bad eh?

I also got this camera case.  I'm still in my twenties and I thought I'd make use of my youth and get this obnoxious leopard print, with silver glitter.  The inside also has a pretty lavender lining which was the ultimate deciding factor. This was originally priced at $88 and reduced to $34 plus tax.

That is all for my little bargain haul and introduction.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your Holidays!
